Zydeco’s name stems from the Zydeco music genre that our team is known to enjoy after work hours on the porch of our historical office downtown. As a tight knit, entrepreneurial team, we pride ourselves in a uniquely flexible and creative approach to making our big ideas come to life.
Howard has over 30 years of real estate experience in a variety of capacities, including 23 years as President of Zydeco. Before founding Zydeco in 1994, Howard practiced law with the law firm of Shapiro, Edens & Cook, then left to pursue real estate, starting with various RTC and FDIC properties. He has developed, secured tenants for, and successfully exited some of the largest institutional quality office, industrial and data center real estate transactions in the last two decades in Central Texas. Howard graduated magna cum laude with a B.B.A from Texas A&M University, J.D., with honors, from University of Texas School of Law, and L.L.M. in Taxation from NYU School of Law. He is also a CPA. He is very involved philanthropically in the Austin area and considers his philanthropic endeavors more important than anything he has ever done in the business and real estate sector. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army and has served on numerous other boards including Caritas, KLRU, and the Peoples Community Clinic.
